The Nuclear option is to purchase a 2.5" SATA SSD and install it inside your PS4. So now I literally have 2 games on my PS4 Pro and barely any other content but the lag still remains.Image Source: PS4 UI (unlike PS5, the icons are normal size) Nuclear Option: SSD I have even went as far as delete all games, applications, save data and capture gallery content I don't use anymore. So I wonder if there are others with the same problem and any ideas/advice on how to resolve this?
I've noticed some articles saying this is due to the 4.0 patch being released but I know not everyone experiences this problem and I was hoping further patches would rectify this but unfortunately they haven't yet. Games themselves work absolutely fine once launched, but the User Interface lag is very annoying. When I try to open Netflix or Youtube, I have to highlight the "TV" icon a few times before it finally populates and I can select Netflix/Youtube. For example when I try to open Playstation Store, the content keeps loading constantly, sometimes doesn't even load at all and I have to go out and back in a few times until the page populates.
Lag affects things like: Opening PS Store, using quick menu, using the "TV" section (Netflix,Youtube), getting game info, joining parties, etc.īasically pretty much anything I try to open, except games, takes very long time to load. Since I bought my new PS4 Pro few months ago, I noticed the UI being quite laggy and it's getting worse and worse.
